Each school year NorCal receives dozens of requests from teachers and community leaders asking for returned Peace Corps Volunteers to do presentations to their groups. This workshop will cover how to actively engage your listeners, tailor a presentation to different audiences, and how to prepare for common questions.
On Tuesday, September 30th, there will be a practice presentation session. The practice session is a collaborative environment where participants have the chance to give a short, 10 minute, presentation then the group will provided feedback on what they liked about the presentation and suggestions how to improve it. It’s also fun to listen to all the different stories from around the world.
Participants will be added to our first contact list so as requests come in we have a pool of trained presenters ready to speak to a variety of groups.
--Veteran presenters will share their experiences
--Examples of various presentations styles
--Tailoring presentations to the interests of your audience.
--Practice basic presentations skills
--Use artifacts from your service like fabrics, art objects, currency, tools, and photos.
Pizza and drinks will be provided to attendees. Please RSVP so we can prepare accordingly. RSVP to will[AT]norcalpca.org
