On April 17 the NorCalPCA Book and Movie club will be discussing J. Larry Brown's new book Peasants Come Last. Unlike many Peace Corps books, Brown writes from the perspective of a country director being responsible for 165 PCVs in Uganda. He also shares his thoughts on an agency he believes has become too bureaucratic and top heavy in its middle age. He suggests reforms to return it to the days of activism and passion but admits no one person has all the answers.
Newly returned RPCVs are especially welcome to come to our meeting on April 17 to give us their fresh perspective on the current Peace Corps.
