Join us for a potluck dinner starting at 6:30pm. No book to read this time. We will be watch a Senegalese movie entitled Mandabi. Meg watched it during her Peace Corp training. It is the story of a man who receives a money order and, in his attempts to cash it, encounters an intimidating barrage of Third World bureaucracy, becomes a witty, masterful portrait of an ancient civilization in the throes of change. Come for just the potluck or come for just the movie, or come for both. Everyone is welcome those recently returning and those who have been back for awhile. If you need a ride from the Del Norte BART, please try to let me know at least by noon on Sept. 18th so I can coordinate the rides.
