RPCV Ruth Royal will present her recently published book at a reading in Santa Cruz on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at 2pm. Hope to see you there!

"Never Gonna Cease My Wanderin" is the story of the long friendship between Ruth and a college classmate, Beryl Brinkman. It consists of letters they wrote to each other over two years Ruth was in Peace Corps Philippines 3, a year Beryl spent in Europe, then Beryl’s two years in Peace Corps Afghanistan 11. The letters and journal entries detail their experiences and travels and their search for how to make their lives match their dreams of justice and world peace.

Ruth Royal served in Peace Corps Philippines 3 in the early 60s during the first years of the organization. She has lived in Santa Cruz since 1969 where she worked in public education, at the Santa Cruz Public Library and the YWCA and is now retired. Ruth’s husband, Nick Royal, was in Peace Corps Philippines 2, and is retired from UC Santa Cruz.
