RPCV Speakers Bringing Service Home

Peace Corps Week is a busy time for our speakers bureau. The speakers bureau provides invaluable firsthand accounts of the history, culture and politics of countries around the world. Below is sampling our activities this last month.

Making Waves Academy, Richmond

On February 6th, Rachel Zuerceher (Fiji 07-09), Lara McLaughlin (Romainia 05-07) presented at Seaside High School in Seaside. They spoke to classes ranging from Economics to American Government about the culture, recent history and economics of their host countries.

On March 1st, Waikwong Kan (Mali, 94-96) and Will Spargur (Swaziland 92-95) participated in Making Waves Academy Career Day. They described how their Peace Corps service led to their current careers and the challenges, set-backs and critical decisions along the way.
