August 8: Books and Brews – Come learn about Anjiro Initiative!

Date : August 8, 2024 5:00 pm To August 8, 2024 7:00 pm

Join us and learn more about Cliff Duong’s (Madagascar 2011-2014) nonprofit Anjiro Initiative which provides educational grants and partnerships to support students in Madagascar.

We will be meeting at the amazing bookstore in Oakland called Clio’s (353 Grand Ave) where there are shelves of books organized by historical period, chess boards, and a full bar with small bites.

More info on AI: Founded in 2014, Anjiro Initiative aims to expand its impact across Madagascar, guided by a mission to support students in marginalized communities. We collaborate with educators and families to provide resources for success, supporting Malagasy students at all academic levels, from kindergarten to university. This year marks Anjiro Initiative’s 11th year of fundraising for the community of Anjiro, Madagascar. Campaign proceeds are granted directly to schools to cover the cost of annual tuition for students at the primary, middle, secondary, and university levels. Join our mission today!

There will be an additional event the following week in San Francisco at Bissap Baobab.
