July 26: Celebrando Fiestas Patrias de Perú

Date : July 26, 2024 6:00 pm To July 26, 2024 8:00 pm

Hola Amigos!

Come celebrate Fiestas Patrias Del Peru – Peru’s National Independence Day with a family style Peruvian Feast followed by Salsa and Bachata!

Peruvian Independence Day or “Fiestas Patrias” (The Fatherland Festival) celebrates the declaration of independence of Peru from Spain by José de San Martín. San Martín was an Argentine general who fought in the Spanish American wars of Independence in Argentina, Chile and Peru. Simón Bolivar finished what San Martin had started, gaining independence for Peru from Spain in 1821.

In Peru, Fiestas Patrias is celebrated the entire month of July culminating in the the “official” festival days of July 28th and July 29th.

We will start the evening at Limon (524 Valencia St. in SF), a Peruvian restaurant in the Mission. We will order from the family menu and estimated cost per person is 20-40 depending on how many people RSVP. The family style menu has lots of variety in options.

For those interested in continuing the party we will head over to Dance Fridays for Salsa and Bachata dancing (550 Barneveld Ave SF 94124). They have dance classes starting at 8pm (beginner friendly) and then it turns into a Salsa nightclub. At door admission price $25.
