NorCal will be participating again in the Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB) group volunteer day on Dr. Martin Luther King Day at their main warehouse near the Oakland Airport. ACCFB is a wonderful community organization that helps bridge the gap of food insecurity in our local area.
Please register with NorCalPCA’s RSVP link below. ACCFB has set a limit of 10 participants for our group, and I will send an email to the first 10 registrants with further details and ACCFB’s registration form, which is required for all volunteers. I will create a “standby list” if registrations exceed 10, and will communicate details as needed.
Note: This event requires standing, some lifting, and possibly lots of bending to reach for items in boxes on the floor. Temperatures inside the warehouse can be cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon. We recommend wearing very comfortable shoes and to dress in layers.
